The House of Tiger: Family-owned, and best-in-class.
Going to the House of Tiger in the trendy De Waterkant area of Cape Town is a special privilege. It's tucked away: you have to find the door that leads up a narrow staircase, which opens up into an extraordinary space.
Inhabiting what was once a tobacco curing house, the historic building has real pedigree. The family that started and runs the House of Tiger has lovingly respected the history of the space, designing it to reflect its roots while embodying a true contemporary African style. It's an extraordinary place, and undoubtedly one of the best cannabis lounges in Cape Town today.
Cape Town Cannabis Journeys is very fortunate to partner with the House of Tiger as part of our Food Journey. Its location in De Waterkant is an ideal starting point for the tour, where you get to explore the upmarket food scene in the area. De Waterkant plays host to a variety of premium eateries, and even the lounge itself has an in-house restaurant that makes incredible breakfast bagels (and they are a favourite amongst our guests). Having a cannabis lounge equipped with superlatively comfortable furniture, a pool table and and in-house restaurant makes it very difficult to leave.
What has made us proud to partner with the House of Tiger team is their spirit of sharing. They have consistently taken the approach that the cannabis industry in Cape Town is not made up of competitors, but rather collaborators. There's room for everyone, and stoners are always better off together, sharing experiences and coming together as friends. Their space exemplifies this value, and it's exactly what we at Cape Town Cannabis Journeys look for and love most. It's one thing to have a beautiful space; it's quite another to embody real values in it. The House of Tiger gets it all so right.
